I went to see the Trans Siberian Orchestra last night, and, as promised, was totally blown away. A feast for the eyes and the ears alike. This was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. Everything had lights on it of some kind or the other. The overhead lighting rig was also part of the show, with it's neon lights, and tilting, and raising and lowering throughout the show. Pyrotechnics and outright huge flames from massive burners were also part of the show. Just wow. The music was totally awesome. Huge speaker towers were hung from the rafters, and the sound was just perfect.
The crowd was a little flat, which is common here. The crowd was a mix of age groups. I was with 3 teenagers, and I saw every age from infants to a couple who looked to be in their late 80's. For once, I didn't have people around us who were total idiots, and totally enjoyed the show without the distractions of stupid fellow fans.
We left with our mouths hanging open. Just wow.
My favorite song they do is 'Carol of the Bells". They did it once during the show, and then again as their final song. I took video of it with my cell, but can't get it to work right if it's uploaded. You need Quicktime to watch it.
