Are you still traveling on the 10, or have you switched to the 40W now?

Why don't you go up to the 40? It's a much more interesting drive - Route 66, pal! The Mother Road.

that would be a major change of plan - I stick to the plan with very little wiggle room. going upto 40 would be like parting the desert.

If you don't have a deadline, you need to make a major change of plan. The 40W is required for every American crossing the country. History. Especially the western leg. Trust me. You won't find yourself on the 10. You'll find yourself on 66.

I'll be in Tucson for a little while longer. The local radio station is featuring eagles all month of March.

You'll be missing a lot of the good stuff, but like the song says:

"If you ever plan to motor west,
Travel my way, take the highway that's the best.
Get your kicks on route 66

It winds from Chicago to LA,
More than two thousand miles all the way.
Get your kicks on route 66.

You go through St. Louis
Joplin, Missouri,
And Oklahoma City is oh so pretty
You'll see Amarillo,
Gallup, New Mexico,
Flagstaff, Arizona.
Don't forget Winona,
Kingman, Barstow, San Bernandino.

Won't you get hip to this timely tip
When you make that California trip?
Get your kicks on route 66"

Here's the Stones version. Mick keeps screwing up the lyrics, but you get the idea!

66 is where you find America, imo.

More info here - the official site of Route 66, by the looks of it!

still not sure If I can handle t-shirt peddlers and a bunch of who knows what worthless piece of "souvenir" vendors.

That road was probably cool when people like Nat King Cole was making it cool.

I probably will hit the last part of it from, and if I do, I guess I'll have to see Winslow. I read that there was a fire a while back that destroyed a building???

Eaglesbabe you're too young to go on a trip.

how the hell are you still 18?
