wb covered this concert for us last week - and his review is up on the blog for your reading pleasure. Sounds like Whitesnake are a good band to go see if you have the chance.

I found this photo of DC and a fan from last year. He looks like a really nice smiley guy.

Great review, wb! :D _________________ I tried being good, but I got bored.

I'm so busy, I don't know whether I found a rope, or lost my horse.
I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are in order like they should be.
The voices in my head may be imaginary, but they've got some really great ideas.

Former WHITESNAKE star MEL GALLEY has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. The rocker, 59, has revealed he's seriously ill and has accepted the fact he hasn't got long to live. He tells Britain's Express + Star newspaper, "I've had a fantastic life. I have been very lucky. I have seen some great bands, and played with many great musicians. "I have enjoyed some tremendous experiences. I am thankful that I can say a proper goodbye to all the friends I have made, who are now rallying round me." The guitarist also performed with classic rock acts Trapeze and Phenomena.

I'm very sorry to hear this. His attitude is courageous and admirable.
Here's an interesting story about Mel from last year.
Whitesnake guitarist unmasks impostor
Published: Sept. 16, 2007 at 9:29 PM
RIPLEY, England, Sept. 16 (UPI) -- A British rock fan who has been impersonating former Whitesnake guitarist Mel Galley has been unmasked by the rock star himself.
The real Galley found out Ken Grimley of Ripley allegedly has been visiting music venues and signing autographs pretending to be the noted guitarist, so Galley decided to pay him a visit at his home, The Derbyshire Evening Telegraph reported Sunday.
When Galley arrived, Grimley did not even recognize his childhood hero. He even gave Galley a tour of his home and signed an autograph “Mel” before realizing his mistake.
In a fluster, he said: "I apologize if I've offended anyone. I haven't maliciously misled anyone.''
He offered Galley a guitar from his collection before shaking his hand and saying "no hard feelings."
Galley said meeting Grimley was "disturbing."
"I found the experience really eerie. All I wanted to do was get out of the house,” he said. “I'm furious this man has been leading his life as me. I don't wish him any harm but he needed to be shamed so he can't do it any more." |

Only 2 versions? I was in Best Buy the other day and saw Sheryl Crow's new cd - you have the cd only version, the digital only version, the cd plus 5 downloads version or the cd/5 downloads/plus ringtone version.

Whitesnake’s latest album "Good To Be Bad" has debuted in the top ten of the UK’s album charts making it one of the band’s most successful records.
The album landed at number seven on this week’s chart and was one of only two new entries in the top ten (the other being The Last Of The Shadow Puppets at number 1).
And as chart data is compiled around the world, it looks like the record is selling well across the board. So far Good To Be Bad has charted at number 10 in Sweden and at number 5 in Norway. Congratulations to David Coverdale and the rest of the band - we’re looking forward to seeing you on tour in June.

Yep. I hope they follow a leaf from the Eagles' recent LROE concert and mix some of their new stuff in with some of their old favourites. Regardless of their new album's apparent sales success in Europe, you can't beat the best of the old stuff. Now where have I heard that argument before. _________________ Taking one day at a time means not having to worry about all of next week! |
