All I know is a Cirque show is already a head trip without Beatles music. (I still think the clowns are funny)
There are no plans to put the show anywhere other than Vegas so I guess I'll be planning a trip to Vegas for sure!! |

| They put this show at the Mirage to make up for losing Siegfried and Roy. My guess is that it'll become a fixture. I love the idea of having six speakers in the headrest of your seat! |

That sounds like a wonderful show! :D I've seen Cirque on TV, but never in person. I like the clowns too, em! _________________ I tried being good, but I got bored.
I'll have a cafe, mocha, vodka, valium latte to go please.

I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are in order like they should be.
The voices in my head may be imaginary, but they've got some really great ideas.

A ballet set to Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds? I'd expect Hey Jude, Yesterday, Here Comes the Sun, While My Guitar but never would've thought Lucy.
I must see this show soon! |

I just spoke with a good friend yesterday. She's in Vegas right now, working a show (she runs the teleprompter at various conventions/shows/seminars). We haven't talked since the beginning of the summer but she called me to tell me that Elton is in town starting July 18. When I told her about Love and how bad I want to see that AND Elton, she told me to hop a plane and get my butt out there.
You have no idea how hard I thought about doing that. |

Well, hope you don't find front row and you end up not being able to go! Remember that happened to me for Don Henley's Florida show in 2004? _________________ Be young, be foolish, be happy. |

Plans are in motion right now for a Vegas long weekend in Feb. Elton is there the end of Jan thru Feb 17. And of course Love. What better way to celebrate my 25th (ugh-that makes me feel so old) wedding anniversary! Hubby knows I'm planning something but he doesn't know what yet. hehe.
I bought the Love cd last week. That's what got me started on this trip. The music is amazing! |

Our anniversary is actually the day after Christmas but hey, EJ isn't in Vegas then!
I'm hoping by tomorrow this will all come to fruition. Mr. T put in for a vacation day this morning. It's killing him that I won't tell him what's going on.
Oh
Come together
Yeah come together
Yeah come together
Yeah come together
Yeah come together
Yeah come together
Yeah come together
Yeah oh
Come together
Yeah come together |

MUSIC
The Beatles: Love (5 stars out of 5)
Jim Abbott
Sentinel Pop Music Critic
December 1, 2006
For all the repackaging of Fab Four hits through the years, none (with the exception of Paul McCartney's "naked" Let It Be) has dared put new fingerprints on the timeless songs.
That is a good thing. The 26 tracks on Love represent rock's most sacred texts and are not to be trifled with lightly. Fortunately, the fingerprints on Love belong to Sir George Martin and his son, Giles, who were commissioned to create this mash-up of Beatles' songs for a Cirque du Soleil production in Las Vegas.
When Elvis went to Vegas, it was bad. Not so for Love, which mixes familiar classics in unexpected ways that ultimately enliven the music by allowing listeners to experience it from new angles.
If anything, Martin and son could have gone a bit crazier at some points. Songs such as "Something" and "A Day in the Life" for instance, aren't tweaked at all, other than subtle new mixes. It's a reminder that such challenges of reinvention are formidable ones; after all, who's going to improve "A Day in the Life"?
In many, many other moments, however, Love is an illuminating creation. There's a heightened effect to the opening song, "Because," now an a cappella showcase that rivals anything the Beach Boys ever did. While that's a result of stripping things away, it's the combinations here that are the most interesting and fun.
Putting Ringo Starr's "Octopus' Garden" atop the wistful strings of "Goodnight," for instance, totally reconfigures the song's DNA. Hard to imagine that the original was so often considered a throwaway.
Other medleys find surprising common ground among songs: The exuberant rhythm track to "Drive My Car," for instance, folds perfectly beneath the melodies of "The Word" and "What You're Doing." In the same way, the Martins concoct a psychedelic side show by melding together "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite" with the drowsy coda to Abbey Road's "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" and traces of McCartney's shrieking on The White Album's "Helter Skelter."
Throughout the album, the Martins have a keen ear for percussion, whether using the Indian tablas from "Within You Without You" to introduce "Here Comes the Sun" or dropping "Hey Bulldog" in the midst of "Lady Madonna."
Many would argue that it's impossible to improve on the originals, but Love succeeds at its equally audacious mission: It updates this timeless music without dishonoring it.
