MSN has put up a page of video interviews with Glenn, Don and Timothy - this is an advance for the CMA Awards (next week), but it's about a half-hour or so with the lads.

You might have to double click on the video links to get rid of some of the stuff they try and jam at you (ads, other programming and so on) but perseverance furthers!

Aside from all the chat, I have one comment - SMILE, GUYS!! It won't break your face, you know!

I see what you mean apart from Don breaking into a smile occasionally. Wink The ad's were few and far between when clicking the links, thankfully! The chat is quite similar to the radio interview.

Thanks for the link! Very enjoyable to listen to, but I would have liked to hear more from Tim and where in the heck was Joe? Confused

Probably figured - and rightfully - that he wouldn't get a word in edgewise. I felt sorry for Tim, who just sat there most of the time. Or maybe he and Tim flipped a coin for which one of them was going to just sit there, like a token.

This interview makes it utterly clear - in case anyone was in any doubt whatsoever - that the Eagles are Don Henley and Glenn Frey. And mostly, in this case, Don Henley.

Yup. I felt sorry for Tim also. Could hardly get a word in edgewise. Sheesh. Don needs to let others talk too. I have to tell the grandkids this, but they're 6, 5 and 3, so they're still learning, whereas Don should know better. Laughing

Hence the problem - why would any old time "fan" like that?

Frey looks pretty angry, it looks like he didn't want to do the interview.
They look 60.
What's the with the Johnny Cash outfits?

Were they even in the same studio for this interview?

Glenn seemed to imply that the band members want to release lots more new music but whether that is in the form of The Eagles or as other symbiotes remains to be seen. Clearly, touring as the Eagles is not at the top of their wants list.

Yep, that's what both Don and Glenn put across on the radio interview as well.

The interview was done to support their appearance on the CMA Awards, so that might account for the Johnny Cash look! Yes, they do look a bit gnarly don't they, especially when they don't smile. Nice to be a woman these days, we can go get work done and not have to wind up with skin that looks like old tree bark! Tim looked pretty okay - but someone needs to tell these guys about dermabrasion at the very least!

Henley looks fine when he smiles, but all that earnest and grim stuff doesn't work - in fact, just makes you look older, imo.

I don't know why Glenn was cross. Maybe he wasn't feeling good. He does have RA, and that can flare up and you can be in pain, but you still have to go on with things.

what's with all that sniffing?

Tim's hair line starts on top of his head - it's like a half wig.
But it's probably better long.

So they dress in black to keep up with the country crowd -

which reminds me, don't they have a song on their new album telling kids about the ills of peer pressure?

You're not the first one to notice the sniffing. Obviously, they're not doing coke these days (at least I sincerely hope not), so my guess is an allergy attack of some sort.

I don't know that they're wearing black to keep up with the country crowd - that was just a joke about Johnny Cash (the Man In Black). The country crowd dresses like everyone else in the music business these days.

Of the three of them, Tim looked the best hair-wise, but he could change the color a little to make it lighter - it would be better for his skin tone. Glenn needs to pull his forelock forward over his forehead like he did in the HFO video. I just don't care for that military look - its not very rock-star. I like Henley's hair color, but he could stand a little less forehead as well. It's not a flattering look. Shows too much face. They need to get rid of their stylist, if that's the problem.

HF is right - Henley wasn't even thinking about Tim during the interview - but he certainly seemed to be exhibiting that talent he has for knowing when to back down, although he doesn't yet have the talent for looking happy about it! Unfortunately, Ms. Interviewer probably wanted to hear from Don and skewed most of the questions for his input.

And, as wb noted, Glenn was in the same location, but I think his spots were taped at a different time.

Judging by that, I'd say it's iffy on a tour anytime soon. Very iffy. Don has done nothing but carp about how he wanted the album to be one way and got voted down or whatever it was. But he is making it pretty clear that he is unhappy that it went down that way, which is a slap at Glenn of course. Hi ho, here we go again! Rolling Eyes

But then they will come back together again because they all realise (and Henley or Frey said) that the group is stronger than the sum of its parts. But they also realise the prospect of a US tour, let alone a world tour, is a bit too much to swallow at the moment. Fists/handbags might fly Wink

If the fans don't embrace these new songs to the extent that they are recognizable and appreciated as part of the new set list, I'll bet my handbag that there will be no more tour. They can't go out and do all those old songs again - they'll go barmy. Joe would probably quit on them. as well. He's been finding it all a bit much for the last couple of years, imo.

You're probably right, M. I remember Glenn saying recently that if they tour again he'd want to do about 7 or 8 new songs.
